For those times when a picture is too “good” to be true.

Hello everyone.

Its been sometime since my last posting. In fact this will be my first post for 2013. The reason? I only post when I feel I have something to say/share. This post comes to be as a result of a recent interaction. I received an email from a submissive who wanted to share photos of “herself”. Note the “quotation marks”. The email contained links to “her” photos. Now, there’s nothing wrong with posting links to photo images as an alternative to sending the photo images themselves. However, due to the look of the photos, something didn’t feel right.

Should you dear reader ever come to a point were what has been shown to you doesn’t feel right remember this site:  http://www.tineye.com/ I’m sure that I’ve plugged this site at least once before but I can’t recall the previous post (if in fact I did) so I can link it. Tineye is a reverse image search site. Meaning that you upload a photo, or past a link into the search bar on this site. If there’s a match the site will provide a url where the original image can be found, it means that the photo hasn’t been used on a site. This of course doesn’t necessarily mean that the photo you’re looking at is in fact the person you’re chatting with, but tineye in my opinion is still a useful tool.

In time take measures to ensure the person you’re communicating with online is who they say they are. That can involve phone conversation, Skype video chatting or taking notes in your conversations, in other words- vigilance!
